We know healthcare is an in-demand career field in our community, so we're doing all we can to expose students early to healthcare career options. Getting kids excited about future careers is the first step to filling the need!
SDMS Life Skill Students Plant Tree Savanna
Life Skills students at SDMS teamed up with 4H and the University of Illinois Extension to plant an oak tree savanna at the school.
Career Day at SDMS
Colleges and businesses came out to SDMS in Spring 2023 to expose students to a variety of career and education paths. And students learned there are so many opportunities for them following high school!

DPS is committed to enhancing educational success for our district through a comprehensive strategic planning and master facility plan. Beginning in October 2024, work to craft a road map that addresses the needs and aspirations of the Decatur school community will take place.
